What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

“If God is for us…”
We must start living like people who believe this. If God is for us, then nothing can stand against us. Not people who would oppose us. Not rumor. Not slander. Not gossip. Not people want to see us fail.
“Overwhelming victory is ours…”
We are more than conquerors. We win. Love wins. Salvation is ours. It is our job to spread this news. It is the great task we are entrusted to: To show people who Jesus is and that they, too, are loved.
“Neither our fears today, nor our worries about tomorrow…”
Even our inner demons cannot defeat us. Fear. Doubt. Anxiety. Depression. Pain. None of these things can separate us from the love of our God. None of these things have the power our God has.
Knowing this…
It is time to stand up and quit living in the shadows of our past failures and our past pains. To quit hiding in the corners where our fears and doubts would keep us. To stop letting other people tell us what we are capable of and what we can and cannot do.
IF GOD IS FOR US, that means that THE GREAT I AM is for us.
The great I AM – the great UNNAMEABLE Creator, with all his creative power, holiness, and love – is behind us. The God who created the ground under your feet and the air you’re breathing at this very second. The God who transcends time and space itself. The Son who sits on a white horse, wearing a robe dripping with blood with King of Kings and Lord of Lords tattooed on his thigh. Yes, THAT God is for us!
So quit caring what people think of what God has called you to do. Quit worrying what people might say about whom you hang out with. Let them talk. Let your fears tremble at HIS power, so that fear itself runs and hides in the dark while you step out in faith.
If God is for us…
If nothing can stand against us…
Then it’s time to be the people God wants us to be.
Now. Right now.
So go. Live like you are loved by God.
And love others like you are loved by God.
Then hold on for the ride.
